Dr. Dorothy L. Smith Joins Phi Lambda
Sigma at the
University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy
McLean,
VA - (April 26, 2004) — Dorothy L. Smith, Pharm.D., president
and founder of Consumer Health Information Corporation became
an alumnae member of the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy
Alpha Omicron Chapter of Phi Lambda Sigma, a national pharmacy
leadership society.
Phi Lambda Sigma, also known as the national
Pharmacy Leadership Society, was formed in 1965 to promote, foster
and recognize leaders and support leadership commitment among
pharmacy students. Leaders in pharmacy, students, faculty and
alumni alike, are selected for membership by peer recognition.
Dorothy L. Smith, Pharm.D., has been asked to join the fraternity
as a result of her many years of leadership and dedication to
the pharmaceutical industry. She is a 1972 graduate of University
of Cincinnati Medical Center, College of Pharmacy.

of Cincinnati Phi Lambda Sigma chapter said, “We are delighted

Dr. Smith develops programs and materials
for patients and consumers to help them make informed decisions
about their health care and medication use. She was noted as an
“architect, leader and visionary” for founding Consumer
Health Information Corporation, one of the first companies in
the United States to develop programs that increase compliance
through patient education at every level: academia, publishing,
international pharmacy, pharmaceutical patient information and
consumer education. Through her company and professional crusades,
she has developed programs that motivate patients and consumers
to manage their medications safely and wisely.
